Jewish Community Center of San Francisco says…

Paul Muldoon With Greil Marcus Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon has been called “the most significant English-language poet born since the Second World War,” but Muldoon also has a passion for rock. He collaborated with legendary songwriter Warren Zevon and is a founding member of his own Princeton-based band, Wayside Shrines. In his new collection, The Word on the Street: Rock Lyrics, Muldoon offers little distinction between poetry and rock music, finding common ground between W.B. Yeats’ ballad-singing porter drinkers, T.S. Eliot, Buddy Holly and Bruce Springsteen. Greil Marcus, America’s foremost rock critic, joins him for this special conversation. "The most sophisticated and original poet of his generation." – The New York Review of Books
