The Lion King in 3D

Saturday Feb 23, 2013 (1:30, 3:45, 6 & 8:15pm)

The Castro Theatre

429 Castro St

When The Lion King came out in the summer of 1994, a whole Disney generation had the hots for an animated lion, wept anew over father-son relationships, and started thinking of James Earl Jones as Mufasa rather than as Darth Vader. Now Simba charges back into the Castro Theatre — and directly towards us — for a one-day 3D engagement, because who says a movie from 1994 can't jump onto the current 3D bandwagon? Not Disney, that's not who. So pop on your plastic glasses and sway to the tunes of "Circle of Life," "Hakuna Matata," and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight." We suggest bringing tissues, just in case.
