Operation Street Love

Wednesday Feb 13, 2013 (5:30pm)

San Francisco Ferry Building

1 Ferry Building

There are lots of ways to deal with Valentine's Day: ignore it, celebrate it, foment revolution against it... or just spread the love. A couple of locals have decided that the best way to mark the day is by going forth into the city with the simple mission of making people feel good. On Wednesday, the day before February 14, show up at the Ferry Building at 5:30pm ready to join in. In terms of prep, think outlandish, smile-inducing costuming; hug-ready arms; dance-ready feet; and a willingness to turn Valentine's Day into a public celebration with strangers.

Operation Street Love says…

Costumes are not only highly encouraged, but will garner you respect, admiration, and countless bonus points in the feel-good-love-spreading mojo that we are infusing the streets of San Francisco with! Expect to see people dressed as giant foam candy hearts, Cupids, angels and whatever else inspires! The Parade of Love Revelry will start in front of the Ferry Building and will wind its way around to North Beach, where the libations and laughter will continue!
