San Francisco Civic Symphony

Sunday Jan 20, 2013 (1pm)

Sir Francis Drake Hotel

450 Powell St

Empire Ballroom

The San Francisco Civic Symphony was founded in 1931 by Mrs. Rosalie Meyer Stern, the same year Mrs. Stern also donated the Sigmund Stern Grove to the City of San Francisco in memory of her late husband. In the same spirit with which Stern Grove was donated exclusively for free-of-charge public events, the SF Civic Symphony is committed to playing regularly scheduled symphonic concerts, open to the public, always free of charge. Unlike any other metropolitan area symphony, the SF Civic Symphony welcomes musicians of all levels, and currently relies entirely on donations. Come appreciate the oldest community symphony on the West Coast at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel's ballroom on this fine Sunday afternoon, and treat yourself to sophisticated, civic-minded culture at its finest and most magnanimous.
