A self-proclaimed "professional talker," W. Kamau Bell — comedian, thespian, and fly-in-the-ointment — has a merciless wit and a genuine sincerity whenever he goes off on his favorite topic: our country's obsession with race. Whether ripping into The Blind Side or parsing the difference between "a President who is black" and "a black President," Bell not only delivers a powerful comedic performance but cuts through platitudes and political correctness to create an outlet for a dialogue that is long overdue. Tonight, Bell stands up to do standup at the Fillmore, with special guest Dave Thomason.
