By now, Kelly Malone is a household name among those who appreciate San Francisco's DIY and handmade scene. Years ago, while undergoing chemotherapy for ovarian cancer, Malone decided to throw a party to cheer herself up. In addition to a BBQ and ice-cold beer, her backyard bash featured friends selling crafts. From those humble origins came the present-day Indie Mart, a full-fledged seasonal street fair where 100 local designers peddle handmade and vintage goods, artists silkscreen on site, musicians rock n' roll their socks off, food truck vendors feed the famished, and bartenders gear up for an epic afterparty. Oh, and happily, Malone gave the finger to cancer. Enjoy this two-day holiday incarnation of Indie Mart, as Indie Mart teams up with Speakeasy to offer a jolly alternative to the shopping mall. Friday is a preview party and workshop extravaganza, while Saturday is the day to shop. Both days, of course, include lots of beer.

Indie Mart says…

A very curated collection of SF's best designers, vintage vendors, food trucks, and Speakeasy beer. Just in time for holiday! Workshop will be there to help create little holiday gifts, ornaments and live screen printed totes and tees. DJ's, Dirty Santa Photobooth, food trucks galore, a beer bottle Christmas tree and (of course) Speakeasy's beers flowing all day long. We'll even be running a shuttle bus through the city to come pick you up and bring you home. There's plenty of parking for cars, ride your bike, take a taxi or public transportation (T train, 44 bus, or 19 bus).
