Art: Discussion

PopRally presents Writers and Writers: Narrative On the Page and In the Street

Tuesday Jan 8, 2013 (8–10:30pm)

MoMA The Museum of Modern Art (Venue Partner)

11 W 53rd St

$18 / $16 advance

If you missed PopRally's last shindig, a "silent disco" dance party launching Christian Marclay's spellbinding video installation The Clock, don't despair, because MoMA's team has already started the ball rolling on a culturally flush, booze-fueled event plan for 2013. Kicking things off tonight is a conversation proposing a kinship between literary and graffiti cultures. Among those weighing in are Wu-Tang Clan founding member GZA; graffiti artist and historian Alan Ket; New York Times bestselling author Adam Mansbach; and artist José Parlá. After your brain has been fully bent, grab a drink at the post-discussion cocktail reception, which features tunes served up by DJ J. Period. Plus, admission includes a copy of Mansbach's latest graffiti novel, Rage Is Back.
