It is a deceptively simple story of adversity that lends itself to both theological and theatrical interpretation, which is exactly what Thomas Bradshaw's Job does so well. The oft-told tale of a "righteous" man tested by God and Satan adheres to its biblical origins: Job, his family, and neighbors wear period clothing. But Bradshaw's God, his immature, foul-mouthed sons Jesus and Dionysus, and his  brother Satan plot Job's downfall/redemption in casual Friday attire — for universal evil can best be understood with a contemporary outlook. The Old Testament violence is graphic, yet there is humor and observation not tainted by blind faith. The Flea's Bats are perennially outstanding, and Job provides them with something new to do: dance.
