With digital being the new norm, cinema isn't what it used to be, for better or worse. This series, curated by critic J. Hoberman and inspired by his new book Film After Film: Or, What Became of 21st Century Cinema?, examines the way the art form has evolved as a result of innovations in technology. Highlighting an eclectic range of films, the program kicks off with Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park and also includes screenings of David Lynch's Inland Empire, Matt Reeves' Cloverfield, and the 35mm uncut European version of Lars von Trier's The Idiots. If you stop in opening day, J. Hoberman is slated to sign books and introduce Jean-Luc Godard's In Praise of Love. And, in conjunction with the films, an installation of works by Pat O'Neill, Chris Marker, and Joe Swanberg is on view at the Museum.
