Pay what you wish

Haven’t been out to the Whitney in a while? We suggest making a trip tonight for a special edition of the museum's pay-what-you-wish Friday. In addition to catching up on the art of minimalist Richard Artschwager and seeing works that show off Pop Art's dark side, this evening features an array of performances organized by Wade Guyton, a New York-based artist currently being fêted by the museum. Billed as a night of experimentation and collaboration, Guyton and curator Jay Sanders have invited IUD, Sam Pulitzer and Mathieu Malouf, Virginia Overton, James Campbell, and more to present work in a variety of media. In between the performances, head upstairs to see Guyton's paintings produced by putting large pieces of fabric through an inkjet printer (you probably don't want to try this at home).
