Notes on Fiction: Haruki Murakami's 1Q84

Thursday Nov 29, 2012 (7:30–9:30pm)

The Center for Fiction

17 E 47th St

Haruki Murakami has long been one of Japan's most celebrated writers, but when "1Q84" was finally released in its English translation, Murakami became one of the most popular fiction writers in the entire world. Like so much of his work, "1Q84" is filled with mentions of pop culture and music, and the book itself is based off of Bach's "Well-Tempered Clavier." To celebrate Murakami's work and love of music, the Center for Fiction presents this evening concert surrounding the musical references of "1Q84." Included in the program will be pieces by Bach, Telemann, Dowland, and more.
