New York Live Arts says…

Award-winning choreographer Tere O’Connor premieres the second work in a multi-year, multi-venue project that will collapse three distinct dances into a fourth culminating work. The process expands his choreographic affinity for developing unrelated strains of material and placing them into complex relational networks. Searching for social resonance inside of elemental choreographic processes, this project looks at how cultures bleed into each other to create newness. Each of the first three works has a different cast and point of departure.

In this second work for New York Live Arts, O’Connor immerses himself in the crystalline artifice that comprises a distinctive layer in his work. The dance features Natalie Green, Paul Monaghan, Michael Ingle, Heather Olson and Silas Reiner, lighting design by Michael O’Connor and an original score by James Baker. Also on the program will be the first work in this series, based on O’Connor’s relationships with young artists Devynn Emory, Tess Dworman, Ryan Kelly and Mary Read, which was presented at the River to River Festival in summer 2012.
