Conor Oberst, the impassioned indie folk hero from Omaha, has said that The People's Key (2011) is to be his final album with staple folk band Bright Eyes. But Oberst continues to be musically prolific (as he has been since his teens), logging hours on solo efforts and a handful of projects, including The Mystic Valley Band and Desaparecidos. A chronicler in his own right, Oberst unravels experiences in the same vein as some of the greats.
