In 1986, playwright Paula Vogel's brother invited her on a trip to Europe, which she declined; unbeknownst to her, he had contracted HIV and died less than two years later. In The Baltimore Waltz, Vogel imagines what the trip would have been like — and how it would have played out if she was the one randomly cursed with an incurable disease. Fast-paced and surprisingly funny, the show is a fantasy, an elegy, and a moving look at the bond of love between siblings. Justin Lauro provides hilarious comic relief in many roles as every romantic European stereotype imaginable.
