Café del Rey in Marina del Rey and Heaven Hills Distilleries present a special bourbon pairing dinner for one night only. The evening's menu features four courses of top-notch seasonal cuisine, each paired with a craft cocktail and a neat pour. The first course, day boat scallops with vanilla-almond sauce, is served with a lock and key cocktail, while the second course of Niman Ranch pork cheeks with apple and sweet potato hash is paired with Evan Williams Kentucky cider. The third course, venison rack with artichokes, blood oranges, and butter beans, is mated with a side car made with Elijah Craig bourbon, rather than the traditional cognac. The final course, spiced ginger bread, is joined by smoked raisin compote, malted ice cream, barley tuile, and a Rittenhouse rye mint julep. Whether you're a bourbon lover or in search of education about the liquor, it's certain to be a stimulating evening.
