The Smiths ability to exquisitely express angst made them one of the most beloved, significant British bands of all time. They're the subject of British music journalist Tony Fletcher's new biography, A Light That Never Goes Out: The Enduring Saga of the Smiths. Fletcher reads from and signs his book, followed by a Q and A with Jose Maldonado, known as "the Mexican Morrissey," and an acoustic performance by Maldonado's tribute band Sweet and Tender Hooligans, long adored for their covers of Smiths and Morrissey tracks. Celebrate the band who made songs including "Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now" so darkly joyous.

Book Soup says…

The definitive book about The Smiths, one of the most beloved, respected, and storied indie rock bands in music history. Hailing from Manchester, England, The Smiths--Morrissey, Johnny Marr, Andy Rourke, and Mike Joyce--were critical and popular favorites throughout the 1980s and are considered one of the greatest British rock groups of all time. Q&A hosted by Jose Maldonado plus an acoustic performance with Sweet and Tender Hooligans.
