Everything tastes better with an egg on it, or so reads the menu at Public Kitchen and Bar. A collaboration between executive chef Tim Goodell and his wife Liza, this restaurant works off the philosophy "food and drink for the people," serving eclectic American fare inside the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Almost all the food is priced under $30, with a quality and taste that far exceeds the reasonable pricing. The menu runs the gamut from sandwiches with a unique twist, like roast turkey with pear and ginger marmalade, avocado, and honey mustard, to entrees such as duck and foie gras meatloaf. The decor features a private garden room complete with a "living wall," a grand dining room with an uncovered and restored mural on the ceiling, and other details that touch on the Roosevelt's rich and vibrant history, as well as the glamorous history of Hollywood itself.

Jason Pomeranc (Thompson Hotel Group Co‐Owner) says…

Public Kitchen & Bar is the culmination of a deeply seeded vision of what, we believe, should have always been the restaurant at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Going back in time to the hotel's creation in the 1920s, but remaining classic, current, and fresh with an eclectic menu and beautiful décor.
