The gorgeous Michael Kohn Gallery near Beverly and Fairfax presents many intriguing exhibitions, and the latest, Into the Mystic, is no exception. This group show is an examination of mysticism, introspection, and consciousness. Explore the numinous qualities of the paintings, collages, and light sculptures by art-world luminaries including Ed Ruscha, Wallace Berman, Joe Goode, Simmons & Burke, Bill Viola, Bruce Conner, and Fred Tomaselli. Among the show's highlights are Ruscha's painting Ghost, Viola's haunting Visitation video, Simmons & Burke's Blue Clouds A and Blue Clouds B, and Vija Celmins' Untitled (Ocean with Cross).

Michael Kohn Gallery says…

Established in 1985, the Michael Kohn Gallery has worked to create shows that have art historical importance by creating meaningful contexts for artists that link them to the greater canon of art history. For 25 years the Michael Kohn Gallery has mounted museum-quality exhibitions in Los Angeles of the work of Andy Warhol (during his lifetime), Richard Tuttle, Peter Halley, Keith Haring, Dan Flavin, Mark Tansey, Jay DeFeo, Lorna Simpson, Kenny Scharf, Christopher Wool, among many other notable and talented artists. The Michael Kohn Gallery also represents the Estates of Wallace Berman and Bruce Conner, both important California-based artists whose work, from the 1950s through their lifetime, paralleled and often led to notable developments in late 20th century art. In addition to the historical works of art, the Michael Kohn Gallery represents a roster of emerging and mid-career artists whose work is seen worldwide: Walton Ford, Cristof Yvoré, Mark Innerst, Dennis Hollingsworth, Darren Waterston, Ryan McGinness, Christine Nguyen, Simmons & Burke, Camille Rose Garcia, and Mark Ryden.
