In the early '60s, Bob Baker and partner Alton Wood founded a marionette theater, establishing what has become the longest-running children's company in Los Angeles. Baker still operates the nostalgia-steeped playhouse, mentoring young puppeteers and performing regularly. During the holiday season, the theater presents a charming staging of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, which features over 100 handcrafted marionettes enacting the famed fable of Clara and the Nutcracker Prince. Besides doing something nice for your inner child, you'll be supporting one of LA's most endearing and endangered cultural institutions.

Bob Baker Marionette Theater says…

The Bob Baker Marionette Theater will usher in the Holiday season with the much requested return of “Bob Baker’s Nutcracker” playing November 10, 2012 through January 27, 2013.

This marionette version of the ballet classic has been one of Bob's most beloved holiday productions since it was first presented in 1969. Employing over 100 of legendary puppeteer Bob Baker's famous marionettes, this family performance features all the characters from the beloved story: Clara and the Nutcracker Prince, the Sugarplum Fairies, the Mouse King, and many more - a true puppet extravaganza.
