Teatro ZinZanni's Love, Chaos & Dinner is a unique three-hour evening that puts a spin on dinner theater – attendees enjoy a five-course gourmet dinner catered by Patina while watching cirque performances, cabaret, acrobatics, music, comedy, and vaudeville shtick. Entering the Palais Nostalgique, a 1910 spiegeltent brought over from Belgium and erected on the grounds of the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa is like stepping back in time – the magical, opulent environment features velvets, stained glass, mahogany, and lush brocades, and all the employees wear period attire. The food is very good - the starter is a savory beet and goat cheese terrine punctuated with Pop Rocks, the soup a rich lima bean with bacon, and three choices of main course - vegetarian, fish, and beef – are offered. Live music from a five-piece band plays throughout, and the talented cast hails from around the globe. Performances range from silly to campy to breathtaking. Among the highlights are the improvisations of comedian Kevin Kent as the Queen of Hearts, German trapeze duo Die Maiers, the acrobatics of Les Petites Freres from France, and the supple contortions of Ukranian Vita Radionova. An evening with Teatro ZinZanni is a whimsical spectacle unlike anything else you've experienced.

Segerstrom Center for the Arts says…

Audiences and critics have cheered this first-ever touring production by Teatro ZinZanni. David C. Nichols of the Los Angeles Times wrote, “it’s a potent blast of pure communal exhilaration. Run, don’t walk.” And The Orange County Register’s Paul Hodgins said “it’s completely, captivatingly unique.” Love, Chaos & Dinner, which premiered at Segerstrom Center on October 24, is performed in a century-old Belgian Spiegeltent – Palais Nostalgique – and is a whirlwind three-hour show where live music, cabaret, daring acrobatics and improvisational humor are all served up along with a gourmet five-course dinner by Patina Catering. Each dish is presented with the same passion and flare as the acts themselves. “The food at Love, Chaos & Dinner is definitely not an afterthought,” stated Hodgins in The OC Register.
