Take a Bao is a new fast-casual Asian fusion restaurant.  Strikingly designed by Ana Henton of MASS Architecture, while this new addition to Studio City does feature bao (the ones here are steamed and made in the San Gabriel Valley), they also offer an assortment of salads, noodles, soups, and rice bowls. Among the best salads are the Eight Veggie Salad (with roasted corn, edamame, avocado, sugar snap peas, and radish sprouts) and the BBQ Chicken, Arugula, and Glass Noodle Salad with roasted eggplant and red pepper, garlic chives, and crushed peanuts. The standout bao comes with duck confit. Other top choices are Tofu Popcorn served with cilantro cashew chutney (great with Blistered Shishito Peppers), Drunken Tomato Tamarind Noodles, and Yellow Curry with Shrimp and Tofu. The full bar features specialty cocktails like the Passion Margarita (made with passion fruit puree), Blood and Sand, and the Hemingway daiquiri, along with a well-edited beer list including favorites like Chimay Tripel and Old Speckled Hen. Save room for dessert: the choices include a Chocolate S'More Bao and a dreamy Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich. With a host of vegetarian and vegan options, Take a Bao makes it easy to eat your veggies.

Which is why we can’t claim that our food is authentic. And we're okay with that.
