Bushwick Book Club presents "Slaughterhouse-Five" by Kurt Vonnegut

Wednesday Jan 23, 2013 (8–11pm)

Goodbye Blue Monday

1087 Broadway

Directions: JMZ to Myrtle or J to Kosciusko

It only seems fitting that the Bushwick Book Club would get around to performing a Kurt Vonnegut novel. The series that takes a novel and turns it into songs has been going strong for a few years in a venue named after (Goodbye Blue Monday), which is is taken from another Vonnegut novel, (1973's "Breakfast of Champions"), so that would make the late author something of a patron saint for the most interesting book club in Brooklyn. This time around, Ben Arthur, Casey Holford, Joe Crow Ryan, Jonathan Mann, Leslie Graves, Natti Vogel, Susan Hwang, and others will all tackle Vonnegut's most iconic work, the 1969 novel that has been labeled everything from dark humor to satire and science fiction, "Slaughter-House Five."
