Gowanus Print Lab says…

This seminar aggregates the latest technologies of the web and synthesizes them into fundamentals for HTML beginners. Class begins by defining the differences between designer and developer; explaining the different applications of HTML, CSS, and flash; discussing different web browser's advantages, disadvantages and limitations; and highlighting points to consider when creating seamless integration between websites, mobile phones and tablets.

After understanding the basic terms and concepts of HTML, following along on your computer as the Instructor covers topics on the projector. Dreamweaver skills covered include how to use cascading style sheets (CSS) to organize HTML and deliver messages more efficiently; how JQuery/Javascript help give websites special effects without the use of flash; Content Management Systems (CMS) that allow you to control the website without editing any of the code; the varying ways to create and edit HTML tags on websites; and how to incorporate HTML into social media using URL shortening and customized URLs.

In class students will use a demo HTML project to get a hands-on understanding of the topics covered and will solidify these skills by completing homework assignments that will using their content of choice to create an HTML email campaign.
