Cameo Gallery says…

WIM: After breaking onto the scene from relative obscurity, WIM had taken their australian audience by storm. Their exorbitant and expansive rock sound, paired with low ranged soulful vocals makes for a truly emotional experience. They’ve gone on to release a much talked about debut album on Modular Records, joining the ranks of Cut Copy and Tame Impala. With tracks like the pounding ‘Collossus’ to the poignant single ‘See You Hurry’ WIM is a purely captivating group. Northern Bells: As a reincarnation of the post-punk collective Cadeo, Northern Bells harps upon the sounds of indie pop and dark americana. With influences ranging from The National and Arcade Fire to Interpol and The Anniversary, there’s real storytelling and heart in their productions. Originally from Ohio, the group now resides in Brooklyn and will be celebrating the release of their new record. The Henry Millers: John MacCallum and Katie Schecter were friends for years before deciding to make music together. Once they began, the tunes came naturally. Their mix of modern synth driven experimentation and pop music is unique and intriguing. After releasing their album ‘Daises’ The Henry Millers have gone on to play packed venues throughout New York City. Blind Benny: Frontwoman Jade <3, had been the principal songwriter and vocalist for her own musical project for some time before forming the group that is Blind Benny. A born and raised New Yorker, she began her singing career in her father’s church while attending the La Guardia School of Performing Arts. Guitarist and producer Jonathan Carmelli typically joins her onstage and also helped craft their earlier release, ‘It’s My Heart, Cookie.’ Following the vision and passion that created those initial songs, Blind Benny is stripped down and acoustic at times, but also soulful R&B and bubblegum pop. Tracks like ‘Sweet Sweet’ are infectious in melody and has the power to warm even the coldest heart.
